Updated -- Bond's interview was described as "good". Four other candidates were also interviewed today and three more will be interviewed Tuesday, April 6.
The Houston Roundball Review has learned University of Houston administrators will interview Texas A&M associate head coach Kelly Bond Monday, April 5, in San Antonio, TX, regarding the head coaching position for the University of Houston's women's basketball program.
Former UH head coach Joe Curl stepped down as Houston's head coach, March 23, due to health-related issues. Curl was Houston's head coach for 12 seasons.
Bond has been a coach at Texas A&M University for seven plus seasons. She's a highly respected recruiter; and, her coaching duties also include working with Aggies' head coach Gary Blair on the Aggies' offense.
Other candidates for the head coaching position include UH interim head coach Wade Scott, Prairie View A&M head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke; LSU assistant coach Travis Mays; and Houston Baptist University head coach Todd Buchanan.
