Connecticut Repeats Perfect Season!

All-Tournament Team: Maya Moore, Connecticut - Most Outstanding Player; Tina Charles, Connecticut; Nnemkadi Ogwumike, Stanford; Kayla Pedersen, Stanford; Danielle Robinson, Oklahoma.


Final: Stanford 47, Connecticut 53. Connecticut wins back-to-back championships and caps off back-to-back perfect seasons. The Huskies have now won 78 straight games (and counting).

Connecticut's Maya Moore scored a game-high 23 points including 18 in the second half. Moore was named the Tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Moore also added 11 reboundds. Tina Charles scored nine points; grabbed 11 rebounds; and blocked a game-high six shots.

Stanford was led by Kayla Pedersen's 15 points and 17 rebounds. Nnemkadi Ogwumike added 11 points and 13 boards. Jayne Appel struggled all night and finished with zero points on 0 for 12 shooting.


Halftime: Stanford 20, Connecticut 12. Yes, that's correct. Stanford is 8 for 31 (25.8%) from the field. UConn is 5 for 29 (17.2%).
