American Athletic Conference Announces 2022-23 Women's Basketball Schedule

Wednesday afternoon, the American Athletic Conference unveiled its 2022-23 women's basketball composite league schedule.
The league schedule features each of The American's 11 members competing in a 16-game conference slate with two byes included.
The 2022-23 season marks the third year of The American's media rights extension with ESPN, in which six women's basketball games annually will appear on ESPN's linear networks.
All games that appear on an ESPN network will also be available through the ESPN App, computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.
The remaining conference-controlled games will be on ESPN+, ESPN's direct-to-consumer streaming service which reaches nearly 23 million subscribers and is available at espnplus.com. For more information on ESPN+, visit The American's Fan Guide to ESPN+.
Since The American's inaugural season in 2013-14, all 11 women's basketball members have made at least one appearance in a postseason national tournament. The conference has earned 18 bids to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship and compiled a 45-15 record in the tournament.
Six programs earned postseason bids in 2021-22. UCF and South Florida were selected for the NCAA Championship, with the Knights advancing to the second round. Four squads from The American played in the WNIT, including Houston, SMU, Tulane and Tulsa.
Conference play begins for The American on Friday, December 30 with four games – Memphis at Temple; Tulsa at East Carolina; SMU at Houston; and Cincinnati at Wichita State. American league games that will appear on linear television during the upcoming season include: Temple at UCF on Jan. 3 on ESPNU; UCF at South Florida on Jan. 22 on ESPNU; South Florida at Tulsa on Jan. 25 on ESPNU; Tulane at Houston on Jan. 29 on ESPNU; Houston at South Florida on Feb. 12 on ESPN2; and Memphis at SMU on Feb. 25 on ESPNU.
The 2023 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Championship returns to Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on March 6-9. The tournament games will appear on the linear ESPN Networks and on ESPN+.
Official game times for all ESPN+ regular-season conference games will be determined at a later date.
The American will preview the 2022-23 season October 12 and 13 when the league hosts its Basketball Media Days on ESPN+. Coverage will begin on Wednesday, October 12, at 8 a.m. Central and continue October 13, at 9 a.m. Central.
