East Carolina's Taniyah Thompson, Temple's Aniya Gourdine Earn AAC Women's Hoops Honors for week ending February 13

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, February 13.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taniyah Thompson * Junior * Guard * East Carolina
Thompson exploded on offense in a 2-0 week for East Carolina, averaging 27.5 points and pulling down 5.0 rebounds in a home sweep. Thompson went off for 29 points, including 19 points in the second half and overtime, and hit the winning shot in a 61-59 win against Wichita State on February 9. Thompson rolled with 26 points and four rebounds in a 68-38 win over Memphis on February 13.
FRESHMEN OF THE WEEK
Aniya Gourdine * Guard * Temple
Gourdine enjoyed another historic week for Temple, turning in averages of 9.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game for the 1-1 Owls. Gourdine logged the seventh triple-double in conference history, and the second for the Temple freshman in as many weeks, with 11 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists in a 73-58 win at Tulsa on February 12.
Weekly Honor Roll
Masseny Kaba * 5th-year * Forward * UCF
Kaba logged 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.5 steals per contest for 2-0 UCF; posted 14 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals in a win at South Florida (February 13).
Kayla White * Senior * Guard * SMU
White averaged 15.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 SMU week; finished with 16 points and two steals in a victory at Cincinnati (February 9).
Mia Davis * Graduate * Forward * Temple
Davis registered 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds for Temple in a 1-1 split; hit 8-of-9 shots from the floor and all five free throw attempts for 21 points in just 21 minutes at Tulsa (February 12).
Krystal Freeman * Redshirt-Senior * Forward * Tulane
Freeman posted 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and a 52.0 field goal percentage in a 2-0 Tulane week; shined with 28 points, nine rebounds and two blocked shots in a win at Memphis (February 10).
Mariah McCully * Senior * Guard * Wichita State
McCully averaged 11.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists for 1-1 Wichita State; scored 13 points and added six rebounds and four assists in a win over SMU (February 12).
