Tulsa's Rebecca Lescay, Tulane's JerKaila Jordan Named Week 10 American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Award Winners

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, January 31.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Rebecca Lescay * Senior * Guard * Tulsa
Lescay earned her first career double-double, scoring 21 points and adding 14 rebounds in a 68-59 Tulsa victory over East Carolina on January 30. Lescay shot 10-of-17 from the floor (.588) and chipped in three assists and two steals in the win against the Pirates. She erupted for 13 points and six boards in the second half alone, helping Tulsa push ahead from a seven-point halftime lead.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JerKaila Jordan * Guard * Tulane
Jordan tied a conference record with her fifth freshman of the week award after averaging 19.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game during a 2-1 Tulane week that included a two-game sweep of conference foe Temple. Jordan opened her week with 19 points, four assists and three steals in hard-luck loss against Houston on January 27. She rolled in a dominant win against Temple on January 30, logging 22 points on 10-of-14 (.714) shooting with four assists and five steals. Jordan capped the weekend with 18 points and four assists in a two-point win over Temple on January 31.

Strong scored 17 points and added four rebounds in a midweek victory at Cincinnati; finished 7-of-10 (.700) from the floor and 3-of-5 (.600) from 3-point range

Crump tallied 17 points and eight rebounds in a road victory at Tulane; contributed three assists and one block to stat line
Courtajia Sanders * Senior * Guard * UCF
Sanders posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds in a midweek win over East Carolina; registered six offensive rebounds against the Pirates
Jillian Hayes * Freshman * Guard * Cincinnati
Hayes registered 17 points and two rebounds midweek against Wichita State; turned in four assists, two blocks and a steal against the Shockers
Mia Davis * Senior * Forward * Temple
Davis scored 18.0 points and chipped in 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.5 steals in a weekend series at Tulane; notched 22 points and five rebounds on Sunday against the Green Wave
