Temple's Mia Davis, Aniya Gourdine Claim AAC Women's Basketball Week 4 Awards

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, December 5.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Mia Davis * Graduate * Forward * Temple
Davis enjoyed a solid week for 2-0 Temple, ranking third in The American by shooting an even .500 (13-of-26) for the week and fourth overall with 18.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Davis logged her third double-double of the season by going for 14 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Georgetown on Nov. 30. Davis shot .600 (9-of-15) as part of scoring 22 points and adding eight rebounds in a victorious trip to Duquesne on December 5.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Aniya Gourdine * Guard * Temple
Gourdine repeated as the top freshman in the conference after playing a key role in a pair of Temple victories, averaging 9.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 4.0 steals per contest. Gourdine went for eight points, seven rebounds and three steals for the Owls in a win at Georgetown on Nov. 30. Gourdine filled the stat sheet with 10 points, seven boards, seven assists and five steals to cap the week at Duquesne on December 5.

Diamond Battles * Senior * Guard * UCF
Battles turned in 13 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals for UCF in a win against Arkansas (December 2); scored the game-winning layup with nine seconds remaining to lead the Knights to victory
Dymond Gladney * Senior * Guard * Houston
Gladney logged 12 points and six steals for Houston in a competitive game for the Cougars at Alabama (December 3); the six-steal performance equaled the top single-game steals total in The American thus far this season
Bethy Mununga * Senior * Forward * South Florida
Mununga registered 13 points and 20 rebounds (six offensive) to lead South Florida at UT Arlington (December 2); second 20-rebound performance of the season is the most in the conference
Moon Ursin * Redshirt-Senior * Guard * Tulane
Ursin averaged 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals for Tulane in a pair of games last week; scored 26 points and pulled down 10 rebounds against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (December 4) during the Miami (Fla.) Holiday Classic
Jane Asinde * Junior * Forward * Wichita State
Asinde registered 12.7 points and 12.0 rebounds per game over three starts for Wichita State; went for 10 points and 12 rebounds against Northwestern State (Nov. 29), eight points and 13 rebounds against Oral Roberts (December 1) and 20 points and 11 rebounds at South Dakota (December 4)
