Tulane's Moon Ursin, Tulsa's Temira Poindexter Claim AAC Women's Basketball Week 2 Awards

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, November 21.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Moon Ursin * Redshirt-Senior * G * Tulane
Ursin put together an impressive stat line in another unbeaten week for Tulane, as victories over TCU and South Alabama moved the Green Wave into a share of the conference lead at 4-0. Ursin ranked second in The American for the week with 19.0 points per game and chipped in the sixth-best field-goal percentage at .500 (13-for-26 shooting) along with 7.5 rebounds per contest. Ursin helped will Tulane to victory in two overtimes against TCU on November 17, scoring a game-high 28 points while pulling down 10 rebounds over 47 minutes in a thrilling 88-78 victory. Ursin totaled 17 of the 28 points in the second half and overtime periods in the Green Wave win.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Temira Poindexter * F * Tulsa
Poindexter repeated as the conference's top freshman of the week following a solid three-win week for Tulsa to move the Golden Hurricane to 4-0 on the year. Poindexter averaged 9.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in the three victories, adding 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per contest to the ledger. Poindexter recorded 10 points, seven boards and four blocks in a win over Sam Houston on November 15 and chipped in 11 points on .714 shooting (5-for-7) with six rebounds and two steals to beat Florida A&M on November 17.
Weekly Honor Roll
Alisha Lewis * Junior * Guard * UCF
Lewis averaged 12.5 points per game and led the conference shooting .600 (6-for-10) from beyond the arc, adding 3.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game for 2-0 UCF; scored 11 points and registered five steals at Virginia (November 17) and added 14 points while dishing out four assists against Belmont (November 21).
Tatyana Hill * Senior * Forward * Houston
Hill recorded 10.5 points per game and pulled down 8.0 rebounds with 3.0 steals per contest in a 1-1 Houston week; tallied eight points, eight boards (three offensive) and five steals in a win over New Mexico (November 20).
Elena Tsineke * Sophomore * Guard * South Florida
Tsineke turned in 15.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals per game for No. 23/22 South Florida against strong competition; scored 17 points and added six rebounds with two steals in a win over Syracuse (November 20) and followed up with 17 points, seven boards and four assists against No. 2 UConn (November 21) at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
Savannah Wilkinson * Redshirt-Senior * Forward * SMU
Wilkinson turned in a third straight double-double (ranked fifth in NCAA DI this season) to open SMU career during a dominant win over Oral Roberts (November 17); scored 13 points and chipped in 10 rebounds and four blocks.
Mia Davis * Grad Student * Forward * Temple
Davis led The American with 19.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while shooting .615 (16-for-26) in a 1-1 Temple week; shined with 25 points, 15 rebounds and four assists against St. John's (November 17) before scoring 14 points with 10 rebounds and two steals in a win over Bucknell (November 20).
