Tulane's Krystal Freeman, Tulsa's Wyvette Mayberry Named Top Players In Women's Basketball Week Seven

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, January 10.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Krystal Freeman * Senior * Guard * Tulane
Freeman enjoyed a solid week for 2-0 Tulane, averaging 19.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game while shooting 64 percent from the field. Freeman tallied 20 points, seven boards and five steals in a road victory at Houston (January 6) to kick off the week. She added 18 points, six rebounds, a block and a steal to end the road trip in a win at Cincinnati (January 9). Freeman ranks fourth in The American in rebounding (8.8 per game) and field goal percentage (.476) and sixth in scoring (14.7 points per game) as of January 11.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Wyvette Mayberry * Guard * Tulsa
Mayberry averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 4.0 steals per contest in a 2-0 week for Tulsa. She scored 20 points and added five rebounds and three assists in a road win at Cincinnati (Jan. 6). Mayberry then turned in 15 points, seven assists, six steals and a blocked shot to help power the Golden Hurricane past Memphis (January 9).

Tsineke averaged 21.5 points and 2.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week for No. 18/19 USF; scored 31 points against Wichita State and chipped in 12 points and four assists versus Houston

Mayberry powered 2-0 Tulsa with 19.5 points per contest on 63.2 percent shooting; erupted for 28 points on 9-of-11 (.818) from the floor against Memphis
Mia Davis * Senior * Forward * Temple
Davis racked up 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a pair of Temple wins; scored 17 points and pulled down 11 rebounds at East Carolina before tallying 19 points and six boards in a win over No. RV UCF
Jasha Clinton * Freshman * Guard * Temple
Clinton averaged 14.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists for 2-0 Temple; filled the box score with 11 points, seven rebounds and nine assists at East Carolina before scoring 17 points in the win against No. RV UCF
Madison Griggs * Sophomore * Guard * Memphis
Griggs scored 14 points and hit four 3-pointers in lone Memphis start of the week at Tulsa, adding a rebound and steal to stat line
