USF's Sydni Harvey named AAC Player of the Week; USF's Elena Tsineke named AAC Freshman of the Week

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, February 9.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sydni Harvey * Sophomore * Guard * USF
In USF's lone game of the week, Harvey tied her career-high, dropping 25 points in the Bulls' dominating 99-51 victory over Temple. The sophomore went 7-of-10 from the field, with all of her field goals coming from beyond the arc for a career-high in treys. Harvey also shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line and dished out a pair of assists with two steals in just 28 minutes on the floor.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Elena Tsineke * Guard * USF
Tsineke earned her second Freshman of the Week honor this season, tying teammate Harvey with a game-high 25 points in USF's Sunday win over Temple. The guard's total set a new career-high, as she buried 21 of her points in the first half alone. Tsineke went 8-of-18 from the floor with a trio of 3-pointers, and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the foul line. She rounded out her line with three rebounds and four assists.

Posted a team-high 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting with seven rebounds in Cincinnati’s 73-58 win at SMU; swiped two blocks and recorded two steals
Dorian Branch * Senior * Forward * Houston
Became the 27th member of Houston's 1,000 point club with 22 points on Saturday against ECU; for the week, averaged 16 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, a steal and a block in the Cougars' 1-1 week
Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu * Junior * Forward * Memphis
Averaged 12 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in the Tigers’ 1-1 week, featuring a win over Tulane; against the Green Wave, posted a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double to lead Memphis
Maya Brewer * Senior * Guard * Wichita State
Totaled a career-high 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting in Wichita State's win over Temple, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc; added a rebound, an assist, a steal and a block in just 14 minutes on the floor
