East Carolina's Lashonda Monk, UCF's Kiera Brown Capture Week Four American Women’s Basketball Awards for Week ending December 20

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, December 20.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lashonda Monk * Senior * Guard * East Carolina
Monk earned the top weekly conference honor for the first time in her career after a standout performance for 2-0 East Carolina last week. She averaged 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 5.0 steals per game in league road wins at SMU and Cincinnati. Monk opened the week with 13 points, four rebounds, five assists and six steals at SMU on December 16. The senior guard enjoyed what might have been her best career outing on December 20 at Cincinnati, scoring a career-high 32 points on 10-of-19 shooting (.526) and 9-of-10 (.900) attempts from the free-throw line to go along with six rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks. Monk is the only player in Division I women's basketball thus far this season to log a game with at least 30 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Kiera Brown * Redshirt-freshman * Guard * UCF
Brown earned her first career start for UCF during a 2-0 Knights week that saw wins against Tulane and at Tulsa. Brown made her first appearance in the starting five versus Tulane on December 15, scoring eight points while adding five rebounds, three assists and three steals in 24 minutes. Adding an additional start to her résumé at Tulsa on December 19, Brown dished out a pair of assists in the win over the Golden Hurricane.
Weekly Honor Roll
Krystal Freeman * Senior * Forward * Tulane
Freeman averaged 18.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 Tulane week; scored 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds at UCF before erupting for a career-high 25 points and 17 rebounds in a win over Southeastern Louisiana.
Elisa Pinzan * Junior * Guard * USF
Scored 19 points with two rebounds, three assists and a steal for USF in a conference win at Memphis; hit 5-of-12 shots from the floor and 7-of-9 from the line against the Tigers.
Masseny Kaba * Senior * Forward * UCF
Kaba averaged 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in a 2-0 conference week for UCF; scored 15 points in win against Tulane and added 10 points, 13 rebounds and two steals during a victory at Tulsa.
Mia Davis * Senior * Forward * Temple
Davis averaged 19.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 Temple week; scored 17 points with seven rebounds at No. 5/4 South Carolina and shined with 22 points, 15 boards and two steals in conference win over SMU.
Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu * Senior * Forward * Memphis
Fankam Mendjiadeu averaged 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game in two starts for Memphis last week; secured conference leading fourth double-double with 20 points and 14 rebounds against USF and 19 points and nine boards versus Alabama.
