USF's Elisa Pinzan named AAC Player of the Week; Tulane's JerKaila Jordan named AAC Freshman of the Week for Week ending December 6

The American Athletic Conference has announced the winners of the league's weekly women's basketball honors, for the week ending Sunday, December 6.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Elisa Pinzan * Junior * Forward * USF
Pinzan quarterbacked USF to a 1-1 week against a pair of top-10 national opponents, in which the Bulls narrowly fell to No. 4 Baylor 67-62 on December 1 before defeating No. 6/7 Mississippi State 67-63 in overtime on December 5. The win over Mississippi State was the first for USF against a top-10 opponent in program history. Pinzan averaged 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.0 steals over the two games. She tallied six assists and four rebounds against Baylor before turning in 14 points, a career-high 11 rebounds, nine assists and three steals in the win over Mississippi State. Pinzan finished the Mississippi State game a lone assist shy of what would have been the fifth triple-double in conference history. The conference leader with 19 assists thus far this season, Pinzan's 4.75 assist/turnover ratio ranked 23rd in NCAA Division I as of December 6.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
JerKaila Jordan * Guard * Tulane
Jordan repeated as the conference freshman of the week after averaging 19.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in a 1-1 Tulane week. She scored a career-high 20 points at South Alabama on December 1, chipping in five rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a pair of steals. Jordan added 18 points, six boards and three assists in a narrow loss at Georgia Tech on December 3. Jordan was The American leader with a .923 free-throw percentage and ranked third in the league with 18.3 points per game as of December 7. Her points per game total is sixth among all NCAA Division I freshmen.

Sanders scored a career-high 22 points on 9-of-14 (.643) shooting in a UCF win at LSU on December 4; pulled down four rebounds and notched three steals in the victory over the Tigers
Asia Strong * Junior * Forward * Wichita State
Strong averaged 16.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for Wichita State; scored 16 points and blocked two shots in a win over Alcorn State (November 30) and scored a game-high 22 points to go along with 13 rebounds in a double-overtime loss against Northern Iowa (December 6)
Britney Onyeje * Redshirt-Sophomore * Guard * Houston
Onyeje scored 15 points in lone Houston game of the week to help the Cougars defeat Auburn 71-61 on December 5; chipped in four rebounds and two steals in the win over the Tigers
Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu * Senior * Forward * Memphis
Fankam Mendjiadeu Averaged 16.0 points and 12.7 rebounds per game in a 1-2 Memphis week to open the season; tallied 21 points and 17 rebounds at Saint Louis (December 4) and scored 23 points with 14 boards in a home win against Liberty (December 6)
Mia Davis * Senior * F * Temple
Davis averaged 28.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per contest for Temple in a pair of setbacks to begin the season; notched 22 points and seven rebounds against Villanova (December 4) before scoring a career-high 34 points to go along with 12 rebounds at Florida Gulf Coast (December 6)
