HBU Huskies Hire Amber Moore as an Assistant Coach
POSTED: June 14, 2019 -- 4:10 p.m. CT
"I am very excited to add Amber Moore to our staff," said Finnie. "Amber is humble and genuine and I was so impressed with her during the interview process in how mature she was and with her ability to connect with people. She has a lot of experience for a young coach and recruiting connections across the country which will help us in our search to find the best fit for our program. Amber is going to be working with our guards and I know they are going to enjoy being challenged by her. We are excited to welcome Amber to HBU and look forward to getting her on the road searching for future Huskies very soon."
"I am very excited to embark on a new chapter at HBU," said Moore. "The immediate connection I had with Donna showed throughout this process and I am grateful to be a part of the staff! It is a blessing to be able to continue my passion to serve as a young coach in this career. I believe in the vision of the program and can't wait to get on campus!"
Moore has spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Saint Leo University in Tampa, FL. In March of 2018, Moore was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's "Thirty Under 30" list. In her first season with the Lions she helped the team to the second-most Sunshine State Conference wins in program history, finishing 8-12 in the SSC and 13-16 overall.

"Amber is a fast-tracked and up-and-coming star in the world of women's basketball coach," added Anthony Crocitto, head coach at Saint Leo. "She demonstrated all the traits needed to last a very long time in this business. HBU is getting a good one, a loyal one, and a winner in Ms. Moore."
"Amber is a rising star in this profession," said South Carolina assistant coach Jolette Law. "She is continuously seeking to better herself and gain knowledge so that she can be the best coach she can be for her players. She had an incredible work ethic as a player and I see it as she develops as a coach. HBU has a good one in Amber Moore."
"HBU hit a home run with this hire," said Iona assistant coach Jordan McCann. "I am so proud of Amber and her dedication to our game. She is so passionate about helping student-athletes succeed on, and off, the court. The relationships she has built and love for the game speak volumes. She is going to do great things at HBU!"
