SMU's Johnasia Cash and Temple's Asonah Alexander Earn AAC Women's Basketball Weekly Awards for Week 6 of 2019-'20 Season

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Johnasia Cash * Junior * Forward * SMU
Cash had a career outing in SMU’s 66-51 win over North Dakota last Monday. She posted career-highs in points (18), rebounds (16) and blocks (four) in just 27 minutes on the floor. The junior converted on 6-of-16 from the field, dishing out a pair of assists and adding a steal as the Mustangs overcame a 10-point halftime deficit for the 15-point win. Cash’s rebounding helped SMU set a Moody Coliseum record with 64 rebounds on the game.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Asonah Alexander * Freshman * Guard * Temple
Alexander was Temple’s leading scorer and rebounder in the Owls’ 74-69 Big 5 win over Villanova on Tuesday. The freshman was just three assists shy of a triple-double, totaling 19 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Alexander shot 58.3 percent (7-of-12) from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the arc, and was 3-of-4 from the foul line.

Repeated as an Honor Roll nod following a 20-point performance in Cincinnati’s 85-78 win at Xavier; registered five steals and shot 7-of-13 (53.8 percent) from the field

Led all scorers with 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting (56.3 percent) and grabbed eight boards against Xavier; tied her career high with six assists and recorded a pair of blocks
Keke Hunter * Junior * Forward * Memphis
Pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds to go along with 11 points in Memphis’ 78-50 win over Arkansas State; tied the conference’s season-high with her rebound total and led the Tigers with five assists
Maria Alvarez * Freshman * Guard * USF
Continued her solid rookie campaign with a team-high 14 points, including four 3-pointers, in USF’s 67-64 win over Idaho; went 4-for-4 from the field in the fourth quarter and scored what proved to be the game-winning basket with a minute left
Shae Leverett * Junior * Center * USF
Posted 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 from the free throw line for USF in the Bulls’ win against Idaho; added nine rebounds and blocked a shot
