UConn's Nelson-Ododa, USF's Alvarez Earn AAC Women's Basketball Weekly Awards for Week 2 of 2019-'20 Season

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Nelson-Ododa * Sophomore * Forward * UConn
Nelson-Ododa posted her second- and third-consecutive double-doubles in No. 4 UConn's 2-0 week that included an 83-54 conference win over Temple. Against the Owls, she scored 15 points and led all players with 10 rebounds, adding five blocks and four assists. Earlier in the week, she posted 14 points and 12 boards with five blocks, two steals and four assists in the Huskies' victory at Vanderbilt. For the week, Nelson-Ododa averaged 14.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, four assists and five blocks per game.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Maria Alvarez * Freshman * Guard * USF
Alvarez averaged 15.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds in No. 25 USF's 2-0 week, helping the Bulls remain undefeated on the season. In Friday's 77-55 win over VCU, she led all scorers with a career-high 20 points, going 7-of-10 from the field with a 5-of-7 performance from beyond the arc. Alvarez additionally scored 11 points with four assists and four rebounds in USF's 82-53 rout of Howard on November 12.

Registered her 1,000th career point in an 18-point performance against UConn Sunday; in three games last week, averaged 21.7 points and 7.3 boards while shooting 42 percent from the field and 75 percent from the foul line
Arsula Clark * Junior * Guard * Tulane
Led Tulane in scoring in both outings last week, including 23 points against Middle Tennessee and 17 against LSU; averaged 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists while converting on 16-of-24 (67 percent) from the field
