Coogs' 2018-19 Men's Basketball Conference Schedule Announced

The American Athletic Conference announced its 2018-19 men's basketball conference schedule this afternoon; and, the Houston Cougars learned which networks which will broadcast their American Athletic Conference games this season. All 18 conference games will be carried on ESP's gamily of networks or CBS / CBSSN this season.

Houston opens its 2018-19 regular season against Alabama A&M, November 10, in H&PE Arena in the first meeting between the two schools. That game will be the first of four games in the Men Against Breast Cancer Cup with additional games against Rice (7 p.m., November 14), Northwestern State (7 p.m., November 19) and at BYU (time TBA, November 24).

After facing UT Rio Grande Valley at 7 p.m., November 28, Houston begins a new era when it hosts Oregon at 8 p.m., December 1, in the first game inside the Fertitta Center. ESPN2 will televise matchup.

After facing Lamar in a December 4th home game at 7 p.m., the Coogs meet Big 12 rival Oklahoma State at 3 p.m., December 8.

The Coogs welcome SEC opponent LSU to the Fertitta Center for an 8 p.m., December 12, showdown. ESPN2 will broadcast the game. That game will be the first of seven straight home games.

Houston takes on Atlantic-10 power Saint Louis (2 p.m., December 16 - ESPNU), Utah State (7 p.m., December 20), Coppin State (time TBA, December 23) and NJIT (time TBA, December 29. From there, the Cougars open The American play and the new year against Tulsa at 7 p.m., January 2., before playing Memphis (5 p.m., January 6).

From there, Houston will meet Wichita State (7 p.m., January 12), ECU (7 p.m., January 23), Temple (6 p.m., January 31), Cincinnati (3 p.m., February 10), USF (5 p.m., February 23), UCF (3 p.m., March 2) and SMU (8 p.m., March 7) inside the Fertitta Center.

In road action, the Cougars will take on Temple (6 p.m., January 9), SMU (8 p.m., January 16), USF (7 p.m., January 19), Tulsa (1 p.m., January 27), UCF (6 p.m., February 7), UConn (6 p.m., February 14), Tulane (1 p.m., February 17), ECU (6 p.m., February 27) and SMU (8 p.m., March 7).

In a rematch of the 2018 American Athletic Conference championship game, Houston hosts Cincinnati Sunday, February 10, at 3 p.m. Central Time, on ESPN. The two teams will square off again in the final regular-season contest for both squads, Sunday, March 10 at 11 a.m. CT, on CBS. Both teams open newly-renovated facilities for the 2018-19 season in Cincinnati’s Fifth Third Arena and Houston’s Fertitta Center.
