University of Houston Announces Clear Bag Policy for Fertitta Center
October 31, 2018 -- 10:35 p.m. CDT
The University of Houston announced the clear bag policy for men's and women's basketball home games played at the Fertitta Center.
Enacted by numerous NCAA institutions and professional sports organizations around the world, the policy limits the size and type of bags, which are allowed into all events inside the Fertitta Center.
Items such as backpacks, purses and diaper bags are not permitted, and fans are strongly encouraged to not bring any bags to the facility.
The following items will be allowed inside Fertitta Center events:
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the doors by arena personnel.
METAL DETECTORS
In addition to the clear-bag policy, fans should note that walk-through magnetometers will be installed at all entry points of the Fertitta Center.
Guests will be asked to remove all objects from their pockets and place them on a table prior to walking through the metal detector. However, guests will NOT need to remove their shoes, belts, watches or jewelry.
Fans are asked to bring only those items which they will absolutely need for the event.
