Rockets Complete Trade with Brooklyn
Posted: October 6, 2021 -- 10:35 a.m.
Wednesday morning, the Houston Rockets announced they have acquired a 2024 second round pick from Brooklyn along with forward Sekou Doumbouya (SEH-coo doom-boo-YAH) in exchange for cash considerations.
Doumbouya (6'8", 235) was originally the 15th overall pick by Detroit in the 2019 NBA Draft and appeared in a total of 94 games for the Pistons over the past two seasons.
However, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon, the Rockets are expected to waive Doumbouya.
Rockets intend to waive Sekou Doumbouya after acquiring him along with a second-round pick in a trade with the Nets, sources tell ESPN. Rockets sent Nets $110,000. The pick is unprotected in 2024.

Doumbouya had a few bright moments (few and far between) in Detroit with the Pistons; however, Troy Weaver, Piston's General Manager, traded Doumbouya to Brooklyn which completed a full turnover of the Pistons' roster in just 16 months since Weaver was hired in Detroit.
In a related move, the Rockets have waived guard Khyri Thomas who appeared in five of the final six games for Houston last season.
