Mike D'Antoni: James Harden is "very doubtful" to play Friday versus the Clippers
Posted: October 25, 2018 -- 3:35 p.m.
The status of James Harden's hamstring injury has not yet been determined. The injury is not believed to be serious; however, Head Coach Mike D'Antoni does not expect Harden to play Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.
"Kinda. But, hope for the best," D'Antoni said. "Expecting the worst. We'll see what happens. He won't play tomorrow probably. I would say he's very doubtful."
D'Antoni added forward James Ennis III will miss a couple more games with his injured hamstring.
Chris Paul will return to action tomorrow. Paul has completed his two-game suspension; and, he'll see his first action since last Saturday's dust-up versus the Lakers. With Harden and Ennis not playing tomorrow, D'Antoni said there is a possibility Carmelo Anthony will start.
"It very well could be Melo at the three," D'Antoni said. "We'll look at the match-ups and make sure we're okay that way.
"But, he started the second half yesterday and wasn't bad' D'Antoni continued. "Looked pretty good. I thought Melo had his best game (as a Rocket) without a doubt; so, we'll look at that. That's a definite possibility."
