Rockets obliterate the Brooklyn Nets, 114-95

Posted: November 29, 2013 -- 10:25 pm CST.

HOUSTON, TX (Toyota Center) -- The Houston Rockets were outscored by 11 points in the fourth quarter and still cruised to a 114-95 victory over the woeful Brooklyn Nets. The Rockets led by as much as 32 points in the ball game. Chandler Parsons scored a team-high 21 points on perfect 7 for 7 field goal shooting -- including perfect 6 for 6 from the Land of Three.

Parsons' six three-point makes led a ridiculously hot 19 for 32 performance by the team. The 19 made threes are a season-high.

"Yeah, after that last one (shot), I felt like everything I threw up was going to go in," Parsons said after the game. "It was just one of those feelings. My teammates did a great job of finding me."

With the Rockets (12-5) rolling and the Nets (4-12) reeling, a butt-whooping was expected before the game and a butt-whooping was delivered. Big Time.

Terrence Jones, again, started the scoring for the Rockets. Jones scored the first six points of the game. The Nets scored the next four points; but, when Patrick Beverley nailed a three-point shot, the Rockets went on a 19-4 run to blow the game wide open.

Houston led 33-17 at the end of the first quarter. The Rockets shot 55.0% (11 for 20) from the floor, including 5 for 9 from three.

The second quarter was nearly identical to the first: the Rockets made 11 of 20 field goals including 6 of 9 three-pointers.

The rout was on; and, Nets' head coach Jason Kidd obliged by resting four of his five first-half starters to start the third quarter and the entire second half.

"I had to go with the guys that were playing hard; and, those were the guys. And, they played for the whole second half."

The Rockets led 92-62 after three quarters.

With the win, the Rockets improved to 11-5 in November for their most wins in November since a 15-1 mark in the 1996-1997 season.

Once again, the Rockets' Bench Brigade was sensational. Omri Casspi scored 16 of the 56 bench points. Francisco Garcia scored 15 and Aaron Brooks added 14.

"We are playing great right now," Garcia commented. "We are playing great with each other; and, we are passing the ball great.

"We are moving the ball so everybody is involved in the offense. We are doing a good job of finding the open man."

The Rockets shot 52.7% (39 of 74) from the floor for the game. Thirty-one of the 39 baskets came from assists.

"Again, we had another night where we made threes," said Kevin McHale. "We had 31 assists off of 39 baskets so the ball moved well. We had a nice game by a lot of different guys."
