Rockets, FSN Houston announce "ClutchCity Classics" schedule
HOUSTON – Houston Rockets fans will have the opportunity to relive some of the team's most memorable moments when “Clutch City Classics” debut on FOX Sports Houston beginning Wednesday, November 9 at 9:00 p.m. The original episodes, which will be hosted by Rockets Lone Star Emmy award winning play-by-play announcer Bill Worrell and include commentary from former Rockets players such as Clyde Drexler, Mario Elie and Matt Bullard, will air each Wednesday in November with subsequent re-broadcasts throughout the week.
The Rockets will also host a special pre-broadcast viewing party at Stadia Grill (20900 Katy Freeway, Katy, TX 77449) on Wednesday, November 9 from (6:30-9:00 p.m.) to commemorate the premiere episode. Elie will be on hand to interact with fans and recount his thoughts on his famous “kiss of death” series-clinching basket against the Phoenix Suns in the 1995 Western Conference Semifinals (5/20/95).
Future November episodes will include: Hakeem Olajuwon's sterling performance against league MVP David Robinson in Game 1 of the 1995 Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs (5/22/95); Olajuwon’s leaping, last-second block of a John Starks’ shot to ensure a win and force a deciding Game 7 in the 1994 NBA Finals versus the New York Knicks (6/19/94); and the historic 1994 Game 7 win over the Knicks that delivered Houston its first major sports championship (6/22/94).
