Jessieka Palmer signs w/ Houston Cougars
POSTED: November 11, 2011 -- 4:05 p.m. CT
Wednesday, November 9, was the first day of the NCAA Fall signing period for high school student-athletes to sign National Letters of Intent with the college or university of their choice. Todd Buchanan, Houston Cougars head women's basketball coach, spoke with members of the media to discuss the signings of five players: Marche Amerson, twin sisters Taylor and Tyler Gilbert, Alecia Smith, and Bianca Winslow.
Here's the video interview:
Buchanan will need to speak with the media one more time to discuss the signing of a sixth player: Jessieka Palmer. Palmer, 6'0", guard, at LaMarque HS, signed her NLI Friday.
Palmer made a verbal commitment to Texas-Arlington in July; however, she changed her mind and decommitted from UTA in October.
Palmer, is the 9th ranked point guard in the nation and the 61st ranked player overall according to HoopGurlz.com. The Premier Basketball Report ranks Palmer 14th in Texas and 44th nationally.
Apparently, Palmer enjoys the Cougars nickname: LaMarque High School's nickname; and, now Palmer has put pen to paper and become a Houston Cougar.
