It's Time

"It's Time."

That phrase is the slogan the Houston Rockets organization is using for the 2007 - 2008 season.

It is indeed time.

The Rockets will host their Media Day activities in a couple of hours; and, I will be attending. I had hoped to attend at least one of the weekday training camp sessions in Austin this week; but, I'll be working at my day job for the rest of the week. Perhaps, I'll head to Austin on Saturday and check out camp.

Neither Yao Ming nor Tracy McGrady will attend today's Media Day; however, fortunately for the Rockets, neither player's absence is due to injury. Yao Ming will be in Shanghai, China, at the Special Olympics opening while McGrady will be with his family attending his grandfather's funeral.

On paper, this year's Rockets squad appears to have more talent and quality depth than any of the recent Rockets' teams; however, championships are not won on paper.

I'm looking forward to covering and following the Rockets this season. For the first time in quite a while, I'm expecting big things from the team -- including advancing past the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Well, "It's Time" for me to get ready for Media Day.
